30.   THE DOOR

A mother, holding her child, stands before a closed door at the top of a flight of stairs. Her back is to the door, which has lotus flowers embossed on its panels, and has no handle. The little girl is reaching towards the door. Emblazoned on her shirt are the images of a hummingbird and a flower.

The mother does not seem to share her child's eagerness to go through this door. Perhaps it is because she fears the unknown; or, having reached this place at last, is reluctant to take that last step that will change everything. Or perhaps it is simply that she doesn't know how to open the door.

Children, on the other hand, fear nothing. They love new adventures--and this is the greatest adventure of all.

When the time is right, the door will open by itself.
